Wolfgang Dvorak-Stocker (born June 9, 1966 in Graz ) is an Austrian publisher and publicist . Since 1995 he has been the director of Leopold Stocker Verlag .

Life

Dvorak-Stocker comes from a publishing family. After attending a modern-language grammar school, he graduated in 1984. He then did military service and studied a. a. at the University of Vienna History and German Studies . He became a member of the Germania Salzburg fraternity . After completing his master's degree, there was a year of internship at Eugen Ulmer in Stuttgart. He completed an apprenticeship as a bookseller in Graz and joined his parents' company. Since 1995 he has been the director of Leopold Stocker Verlag .

In 1997 he held a ten percent stake in the right - wing conservative German national weekly newspaper Zur Zeit . In 1999 he took over the magazine Neueordnung , which is classified by the Documentation Archive of the Austrian Resistance (DÖW) as right-wing extremist. In 2000 the Styrian publishing house F. Collector was acquired, in 2005 the Ares publishing house was founded to continue the political and historical legal journalism of the Stocker publishing house . Since 2003, Dvorak-Stocker has also been co-editor of the journal Sezession of the neurerecht Institute for State Policy (IfS), of which he became a member of the editorial board. In 2006, the monthly cookery magazine Cooking & Kitchen was taken over, the publisher's only general-interest magazine . In 2006 he combined the agricultural journals in the Landwirt-Agrarmedien GmbH, in 2008 he founded an agricultural specialist publishing house in Kiev.

According to the DÖW, he and his mother and former managing director Ilse Dvorak-Stocker, who died in 2011, had close contacts with the right-wing extremist scene. He appeared as a speaker in 2002 at the right-wing society for free journalism (GfP) and presumably in 2003 at the right-wing German Academy . He was also the author of the right-wing extremist Austrian magazine Die Aula . The right-wing German weekly newspaper Junge Freiheit has him on its list of authors. Dvorak-Stocker was also one of the signatories of an appeal against the exclusion of Junge Freiheit from the Leipzig Book Fair in March 2006. In 2008 he appeared at the house of the extreme right-wing fraternity Danubia Munich .

The FPÖ politician Otto Scrinzi commented in the auditorium in 2002 : “Dr. Ilse Stocker and in her successor Mag. Wolfgang Dvorak-Stocker ventured into the minefield of contemporary history and of so-called 'revisionism' ”. Political observers speak less of a “right wing”, but more of a “down-to-earth-rural, clerical-conservative and German national [en]” Dvorak-Stocker. The journalists Gerlinde Pölsler and Herwig Höller noted in 2005: “He [Dvorak-Stocker] makes or publishes statements whose messages are quite clear, but which are often not clearly formulated and arguably thematically broad. This makes it more difficult to prove racism, for example. ”In a Falter interview, also from 2005, the critic replied:“ There is a gray area between criticism of immigration and xenophobia. I admit you can describe this as xenophobic. I call it critical of immigration. "
