Exposure at Wunderburg

Wunderburg (colloquially: Wunabuʳch ) is a district of the municipality of Marloffstein in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia .

location

The wasteland is a bit off the district road ERH 7 , which leads to Marloffstein on state road 2242 (0.3 km west) or to Uttenreuth on state road 2240 (2.5 km south-east). The place is immediately surrounded by arable land and grassland. About 0.5 km south is the copper trench wood , 1 km southeast is the green wood .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1420 as "Wunderpurg". The defining word of the place name is probably wunne, wound (e) ( mhd. For delight and in the figurative sense pasture place). Lieutenants were the Schenk von Stauffenberg . At that time, the Lords of Streitberg had the farm as a fiefdom . In 1484 they sold the Mannlehen to the Linck family, which in 1501 passed to Alexius Haller through succession . In 1516 the property burned down. In 1545 Sigmund Pfinzing acquired Haller's claims for 100 florins and soon afterwards built a new manor house. His sons-in-law Endres Schmidmayer and Jakob Welser inherited the Mannlehen . In the following years a brewery was built. The high and lower court was exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Oberamt Baiersdorf . In 1714 there were two houses next to the manor house. The high court was disputed by the Bamberg center office Neunkirchen . In 1781, the Bavarian Councilor of Commerce, Christian Salomon Pauli zu Erlangen, bought the palace and its affiliations from the Lords of Stauffenberg. In 1811 the place consisted of a castle, a farmhouse, a stable, two barns and a courtyard . This included 22 acres of fields and 6 days' work of meadows. At that time it was owned by the Nuremberg merchant Johann Peter Schmitt. In 1837 there was a fief conversion contract between the Stauffenberg taverns and the businessman Jakob Friedrich Kollmar. Since then, it was a free self- owner.

As part of the community edict (early 19th century), Wunderburg was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Uttenreuth . After 1840, but before 1861, the reunification to Marloffstein took place .
