Amnaay Zebedayo Bayo

Amnaay Zebedayo Bayo (born May 20, 1976 in Arusha ) is a Tanzanian long-distance runner who specializes in road running.

Life

In 1997 he won the Vigarano Marathon, came in 68th place in the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Athens and came second in the Venice Marathon . The following year he came third in the Lisbon Half Marathon , won the Los Angeles Marathon and came third in the New York City Marathon . In 1999 he was tenth in the Paris Marathon . At the World Championships in Seville , he did not reach the goal.

In 2000 he won the Paris Half Marathon and the CPC Loop Den Haag and came fourth in the Paris Marathon. He was then nominated for the Olympic Games in Sydney , where he finished in 61st place. At the Half Marathon World Championships in Veracruz , he was seventh.

In 2001 he was fourth in the Tokyo International Men's Marathon , second in the Hokkaidō Marathon and came in 26th place at the World Half Marathon Championships in Bristol . In the following season he came over a 17th place in the Lake Biwa Marathon and a tenth in the Milan Marathon .

In 2003 he won in Tokyo and finished eighth in Paris. At the World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis , he gave up shortly after the start. In return, he managed to win the Athens Marathon in autumn .

In 2004 he qualified eighth in the Rotterdam Marathon for the Olympic Games in Athens , where he again suffered a premature end.

His last leading position in a major race came in second in Tokyo the following year. In 2008, he worked as a pacemaker for the elite at the Tokyo Marathon .

At the World Cross Country Championships he was 14th in Vilamoura in 2000 and 49th in Ostend in 2001 .
