List of soccer world champions
The list of soccer world champions lists all winners as well as the second and third placed teams with the complete squad of previous soccer world championships for women . In the further part all players are listed who have won the world championship at least once.
The women's soccer World Cup was launched on the initiative of the then FIFA President João Havelange . The first tournament was held in the People's Republic of China in 1991 . The USA are the record winners of the competition with three titles (ahead of Germany with two titles). The 2015 World Cup took place in Canada . The 2019 tournament was held in France .
In the eight world championships played so far, 129 players were able to achieve the title of soccer world champion. 59 of them were American, 29 German, 21 Japanese and 20 Norwegian. 31 players have won the World Cup twice so far. Twelve of them were German and 19 American. Christie Rampone (United States) is the most successful participant in the world championships so far, with two world championship titles, one runner-up and two third places.

- Rank: Indicates the order of the players. This is determined by the number of world championship titles. If the number is the same, the second places are compared and then the third places.
- Name: Give the name of the player.
- Country: Name the country for which the player started.
- World Champion: states the number of gold medals won.
- Second: Name the number of second places.
- Third: states the number of third places.
- Total: states the number of all placements among the top three.
