Tony Sparano

Tony Sparano (b. (1961-10-07)October 7, 1961 in West Haven, Connecticut) is the current head coach of the Miami Dolphins. He was introduced in a press conference on January 16, 2008.[1]

Sparano is a 1982 graduate of the University of New Haven, where he was a four-year letterman and starting center for the New Haven Chargers. From 1994-98 Sparano served as head football coach for his alma mater.

Tony was featured in a segment of ESPN Sportscenter where they made light of his name being so close to fictional TV mobster Tony Soprano. Sportscaster Kenny Mayne and Sparano himself reenacted the now infamous final scene of the HBO program The Sopranos. Cameos in the segment were made by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, tight end Jason Witten, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, and even from castmembers of The Sopranos.
