ČEZ Basketball Nymburk is a Czech professional basketball team from Nymburk in the Czech Republic . The club currently plays in the Czech National Basketball League . In addition to the Czech championship, the club plays in the VTB United League .

history

ČEZ Basketball Nymburk was founded in 1929. The club has had different names throughout its history. Since 2004 it bears the name of the sponsor ČEZ. The rise to the Czech top club began in 1995 when the club got a new management. Nymburgk rose in 1997 to the third Czech league and in 2000 made it to the top Czech division. After finishing third in 2002, Nymburk won the title two years later and since 2004 has won all the Czech championships as well as the cup nine times. In the 2002/03 season Nymburgk started for the first time in a European competition. Nymburgk has been in the ULEB Eurocup every year since the 2007/08 seasonwith it. The best result so far was the quarter-finals in 2009/10 and 2011/12. In the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons Nymburgk started qualifying for the ULEB Euroleague . Since ČEZ has no equal opponents in the national championship, the club regularly competes in the regional leagues alongside its own championship. Nymburk played in the Adriatic League in 2010/11 and in the VTB United League from 2011 to 2016 .
