(2595) Gudiachvili ( 1979 KL ; 1952 SE ; 1959 ET ) is an approximately 14 km large asteroid of the central main belt , which was discovered on May 19, 1979 by the Danish astronomer Richard Martin West at the La Silla Observatory on La Silla in La Higuera was discovered in Chile ( IAU code 809). It belongs to the Gefion family, a group of asteroids named after (1272) Gefion .

designation

(2595) Gudiachvili was named after the Georgian- Soviet painter Lado Gudiaschwili (1896–1980), who was a friend of the explorer Richard Martin West. He was born in the Georgian city of Dusheti , studied in Tbilisi , lived in Paris from 1919 to 1927 and then returned to his homeland. His personal style, which he developed early on, is in part influenced by early frescoes . His drawings and paintings are often philosophical or allegorical in nature; many are related to Georgia's turbulent history . He is one of the founders of Georgian art in the 20th century and became a national legend during his lifetime.
