The second division 1952/53 was the 36th season of the second highest Belgian division in men's football . It began in September 1952 and ended in May 1953.
reform
With the establishment of the fourth division (promotion), the league system was reformed. The second division became single-track again. Participants were the two relegated teams from the 1st division and the clubs of the 2nd division 1951/52 A and B, which had occupied places two to eight. There were no promoters.
mode
The 16 clubs played against each other twice on a total of 30 match days, divided into a first half and a second half. The top two of the table rose to the first division , while the bottom two of the table were relegated to the third division .
