The Second Division 1945/46 was the 29th season of the second highest Belgian division in men's football . It began in September 1945 and ended in May 1946.

The competition kept its format with two groups, but this time with 35 teams. Participants were the clubs of the previous season , with the exception of the two newly promoted Sint-Niklase SK and RFC Liège , as well as the relegated Royal Racing Club de Bruxelles and Boom FC who got a place in the first division again because of the war events .

The four promoted clubs from the third division joined the 27 clubs, while the voluntary relegated KVV Lyra came from the first division . In order to remedy the injustices during the war, the Belgian federation decided to also allow the teams that had been relegated in the three "war championships" to participate.

The 35 teams played in two groups of 17 and 18 clubs respectively. Each team played against each other twice in the first half of the season. The two top of the table rose to the first division . Two teams were relegated from group A and three from group B.
