The second division 2010/11 was the 94th season of the second highest Belgian division in men's football . It started on August 18, 2010 and ended on May 1, 2011.

mode

By the forced relegation of Excelsior Mouscron in the third division , a team rose less from the first division to the second than teams rose. The gap was not filled by another promoted from the third division, so the size of the second division was reduced from 19 to 18 teams. Twelve clubs came from Flanders , five clubs from Wallonia and one club from the Brussels region .

The 18 clubs played against each other twice on a total of 34 match days, divided into a first and a second half. The first in the table rose straight away. The second climber was determined between the second, third, fourth, as well as the penultimate of the 1st division .

The teams in the last two ranks were relegated directly to the third division , the third from bottom had to go into relegation.
