The 3.7 cm Flak-Zwilling 43 (Flak = anti -aircraft gun ) was an anti -aircraft gun of the Wehrmacht in World War II .
history
The 3.7 cm Flak Twin 43 was a further development of the 3.7 cm Flak 43 , whose rate of fire was doubled by the second tube. As the weight of the flak increased, a new two-axle trailer had to be used for transport.
It was produced in three Berlin factories ( DWM , Gustav Appel, Dollberg), in the Creussen metal works , in the Eustergerling machine and apparatus construction in Bielefeld and in the Neumark device construction in Landsberg .
The flak weighed 2780 kg in the battle and was able to shoot 0.685 kg HE shells 4800 m high. The life of a tube was approximately 8000 rounds.
There were also versions with tubes placed side by side instead of one on top of the other, which were used, for example, on submarines such as the U 889 .
