The 15 cm cannon (E) was a German railway gun used by the Wehrmacht during World War II .
history
In the gun it was, the tube composed of the First World War derived 15-cm SK L / 40 and a six-axle railway carriage . It was an interim solution in order to have K 5 and K 12 railway guns available until the introduction of the new modern designs .
The cannon could be rotated 360 ° on the railway carriage and could also fire from the side with the help of side supports. The life of a barrel that fired 43 or 52.5 kilograms bullets was about 1100 rounds.
Four cannons were built and used in the 655 railroad battery.
