The short 8 cm grenade launcher 42 was a German grenade launcher used by the Wehrmacht during World War II .
history
The grenade launcher, also known as the stub launcher, was a shortened grenade launcher 34 , the barrel of which was shortened by 39.6 cm. The same 3.5 kg bullets were used. By halving the weight, the use in the paratrooper divisions should be made easier. Later it was also used by the army as a replacement for the Grenade Launcher 36, which was no longer produced from 1941 .
