3rd Royal Bavarian Cavalry Brigade
The 3rd Cavalry Brigade was a large unit of the Bavarian Army .
history
The large unit was originally formed on November 27, 1815 as the 1st Brigade of the Cavalry Division of the General Command Würzburg. From June 1, 1822 to November 19, 1848 it was called the Cavalry Brigade of the 3rd Army Division and then formed the 3rd Cavalry Brigade. On April 1, 1901, she changed her number and was renamed the 5th Cavalry Brigade.
The command changed location several times in the course of its history. Initially stationed in Nuremberg , it came to Ansbach in 1848 , was in Bamberg from 1851 to 1855 and again in Nuremberg from 1871 to 1901. With the renumbering, the brigade moved to Dieuze .

In 1914 the brigade was part of the 3rd Division . You were subject to the following units:
- 3rd Chevaulegers regiment "Duke Karl Theodor" in Dieuze
- 5th Chevaulegers Regiment "Archduke Friedrich of Austria" in Saargemünd
The brigade was disbanded at the beginning of the First World War . According to the war organization of the Bavarian Army as of August 2, 1914, the 3rd Chevaulegers Regiment was subordinated to the 3rd Infantry Division and the 5th Chevaulegers Regiment to the 4th Infantry Division .
