- In 469 there was a fight between the Gallo-Roman commander Paulus and Saxon looters under Adovacrius near Angers . Paul falls, but Childerich I can decisively defeat the Saxons.
- The Ostrogoth Prince Theodoric (later "the Great") leaves the court of Constantinople , where he was held hostage, and returns to his people in Pannonia .
