- Balkan campaigns of Maurikios : The Avars evade the Eastern Roman general Priskos before Singidunum and invade Dalmatia with moderate success .
- The Merovingian Childebert II tried to use the struggle for Singidunum for an attack on Avar territory on the Drau in what is now Carinthia. The Bavarian invasion army is completely wiped out by the Avars. In retaliation, an Avar army moves to Thuringia and the regent Brunichild has to buy her departure.
