Gooseberry Family Adventures is an American cartoon from 2002. The film is based on the cartoon series Expedition of the Gooseberries .
action
Eliza Gooseberry travels the world with her parents, the animal filmmakers Nigel and Marianne, in a mobile home. Eliza has a secret: she can understand the language of animals and thus, for example, talk to her chimpanzee Darwin. Her grandmother Cordelia is concerned about her safety and gives Eliza a place in an English boarding school. Eliza has to leave Africa against her will and cannot take part in the search for the kidnapped cheetah child Tally. Darwin and Eliza leave England and fly back to Nairobi. A rhinoceros tells Eliza that a horde of elephants is in great danger. Eliza meets Sloan and Bree Blackburn, who after a short time turn out to be the ones who want to kill the elephants.
The Blackburns want to know how Eliza found out about their plan, they tie Eliza in the trailer and threaten her. Distracted by noises outside, Bree and Sloan leave the trailer. Tally, the kidnapped cheetah child, frees Eliza from her bonds. Eliza tries to escape, but sees that Sloan has captured her sister Debbie. The Blackburns threaten to throw Debbie off a cliff, and Eliza shares how she knew about the Blackburns' plan.
A storm comes up and Eliza's special ability disappears. Together with her friends and sister, she manages to escape the Blackburns. With a trick, Eliza manages to save the elephants from certain death, and then gets her ability back from the shaman from whom she once received her special gift.
