Ahmad Hazer (born September 4, 1989 in Beirut ) is a Lebanese hurdler who occasionally competes in the sprint .

Athletic career

Ahmad Hazer gained his first experience in international championships at the Junior Asian Championships in Jakarta in 2008 , where he was eliminated in the first round in the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles. He then took part in the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz , but could not get into the semifinals there. In 2009 he took part in the Student World Games in Belgrade , but could not finish the 110-meter hurdles there. He then took part in the World Championships in Berlin , but retired there again in the first round, as well as at the Asian Championships in Guangzhou . At the Francophonie Games in Beirut , he finished sixth over the hurdles and seventh with the Lebanese 4 x 400 meter relay.

In 2010 he took part in the World Indoor Championships in Doha , where he set a new national record of 8.36 seconds in the 60 m hurdles, but did not qualify for another round. In 2011 he was eliminated from the Asian Championships in Kobe over the hurdles in the preliminary run, as well as at the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen over 100 meters and in the hurdles. He then took part again in the World Championships in Daegu , but again did not get beyond the first round. At the Pan-Arab Games in Doha, he finished seventh. In 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London for the first time , where, as expected, he was eliminated in the first round . In 2013 he finished fifth at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin and was eliminated again in the preliminary stages of the Asian Championships in Pune , as well as at the Summer Universiade in Kazan .

In June 2013 Hazer was tested for the banned substance methenolone and then banned for two years. In 2016 he took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro for the second time , but was eliminated again in the first round . In 2017 he was eliminated again in the first round at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar and at the World Championships in London. Before that, he finished sixth over the hurdles at the Francophonie Games in Abidjan and eighth with the Lebanese 4 x 100 meter relay. At the Summer Universiade in Taipei he was also eliminated in the preliminary stages and took seventh place at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in early September. In 2018 he took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran , where he was eliminated from the 60-meter hurdles in the first round and took eighth place with the 4-by-400-meter relay.

In 2011 and 2012 he was the Lebanese champion in the 110-meter hurdles.
