Air Calédonie is a French airline based in Nouméa in New Caledonia and based at Magenta Airport .
history
Air Calédonie was founded on December 9, 1954 under the name Transpac Airlines , in which the local government held 76% of the shares. In 1968 the company then took on the name Air Calédonie. She used Cessna 310 and de Havilland Canada DHC-6 . In 1983 Air Calédonie carried 135,000 passengers.
In 1987 the fleet was renewed by four ATR 42s and a Dornier Do 228 , which made it possible to increase the number of passengers to over 180,000. A number of feeder flights for Air France and Qantas Airways are operated to the Nouméa base in New Caledonia .
