Albany is a village in the town of Albany in Orleans County in the state of Vermont in the United States with 193 inhabitants (according to the 2010 census). Albany is to the west of the town of Albany on which it is politically and administratively dependent. In the east, the area of ​​the village is bounded by the Black River . The Vermont State Route 14 runs north-south through the Village. Partly on the old route of the Bayley-Hazen Military Road , which leaves the village to the west.

history

Albany was proclaimed on June 27, 1781, the Grant for Albany received on June 26, 1782 Colonel Henry E. Lutherloh and Major Thomas Cogswell and others. The town was named Lutterloh after Colonel Henry Emannuel Lutterloh. On October 13, 1815, the name was changed to Albany .

The Village Albany was granted independent rights in 1915. As early as 1779, the Bayley-Hazen Military Road was the first road to reach Albany.
