Alexander Sergejewitsch Sobolew ( Russian Александр Сергеевич Соболев ; English transcription: Aleksandr Sergeyevich Sobolev ; born March 7, 1997 in Barnaul ) is a Russian football player who is under contract with the first division club Spartak Moscow . The striker is a former Russian U21 international .

Career

society

Alexander Sobolew, born in Barnaul , comes from the youth work of the local club Dynamo Barnaul . For the 2016/17 season , the striker moved to the youth team of the first division club Tom Tomsk , where he was listed in the first team's matchday squad for the first time in November 2016. He made his debut in the top Russian league on December 5, 2016 (17th matchday) in the 0-1 away defeat against FK Ufa . As a result, he established himself as a regular in the team. On April 10, 2017 (22nd matchday) he managed a 2-2 draw against Rubin Kazan . During this season he scored three goals in 13 league games and was relegated to the second-class Perwenstwo FNL with the club . There he met six times in the next season 2017/18 until the winter break in 24 league appearances.

On December 29, 2017, Sobolev's move to league rival Krylya Sovetov Samara was announced, where he was given a four-year contract. He made his debut on March 4, 2018 (26th matchday) in a 3-1 away win against FK Dynamo Saint Petersburg , when he came on for Sergei Samodin in the 57th minute and scored the last goal of the game in the closing stages. On April 7th (31st matchday) he marked a hat trick in a 5-1 home win against the second team of Spartak Moscow . In the wing of the Soviets , he improved his goalscoring rate greatly, was a regular in the second half of the season and rose with the club in the Premjer League. He scored a total of eight goals in 12 league games for his new club this season.

In the top Russian league, however, Sobolev struggled in the following 2018/19 season . He scored only once in 12 league appearances up to the winter break and also lost his regular place. On February 2, 2019 he was loaned to league rivals Yenisei Krasnoyarsk until the end of the season , who was last in the table at the time. He made his debut on March 3, 2019 (18th matchday) in a 1-1 draw against FK Rostov when he came on for Dmitri Jatchenko in the 73rd minute of the game . He started regularly in the next league games and scored his first goal on April 25 (25th matchday) in a 2-1 home win against FK Orenburg . Sobolev's three goals and an assist in 10 league games brought his loan club nothing and Yenisei Krasnoyarsk had to start relegation as bottom of the table.

Alexander Sobolew returned to Samara for the next 2019/20 season and got off to an excellent start. On matchday 1, he shot his team with a brace for a 2-0 home win against CSKA Moscow . However, his club found itself early in the relegation battle and Sobolew was able to score some important goals in the next league games. By the winter break, he scored ten goals and three assists in 18 league appearances, making him one of the best scorers in the league.

With his achievements Sobolew aroused the interest of Russian top clubs, but also foreign clubs were interested in the striker during the season. On January 30, 2020, he switched to league rivals Spartak Moscow on loan for the rest of the season. The capital city club also secured a purchase option of 4.5 million euros. He made his debut on February 29, 2020 (20th match day) in a 2-0 away win in the derby against FK Dynamo Moscow , in which he succeeded in assisting. During the forced break due to the COVID-19 pandemic , Spartak announced that the purchase clause has been drawn and the striker will start a four-year contract on July 1, 2020. In the 3-2 away win against Arsenal Tula on June 20 (23rd matchday), he scored his first goal in the jersey of the Krasno-belyje .

National team

On September 7, 2018, Alexander Sobolev made his debut for the Russian U21 national team in a 1-1 draw against the Egyptian U23 national team when he came on for Ilya Shigulev at half-time . A few days later it was used in another game, but was not taken into account afterwards.

In October 2019 he was nominated for the first time for the senior national team as part of the qualifying game for the European Championship 2021 against Cyprus as a replacement for the injured Fyodor Smolow , but was not included in this game.
