Aljaksandra Herassimenja ( Belarusian : Аляксандра Віктараўна Герасіменя; Łacinka : Aliaksandra Viktaraŭna Hierasimienia; born December 31, 1985 in Minsk , Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic , USSR ) is a Belarusian swimmer . She specializes in freestyle and short backstroke swimming.

2003 doping ban

In 2003 Aljaksandra Herassimenja was banned for two years because of a positive test for the steroid Norandrosterone.

At the 2011 Swimming World Championships , she and Jeanette Ottesen won a gold medal in the 100 m freestyle in 53.45 s.

2012 Summer Olympics

At the 2012 Summer Olympics , she won silver in the 50 m and 100 m freestyle behind Ranomi Kromowidjojo from the Netherlands.

At the 2017 World Championships in Budapest , she was third in the 50 m back discipline with 27.23 seconds behind the Brazilian Etiene Medeiros and the Chinese Fu Yuanhui .
