The Alpine National Park (English Alpine National Park ) is located in the Australian state of Victoria , northeast of the city of Melbourne . With an area of ​​6,474 km², it is the largest national park in Victoria. Its area protects the highest mountains in the state and includes much of the high mountain region of the Great Dividing Range and is one of eight national parks that protect the Australian Alps.

The park borders the Kosciuszko National Park in the neighboring state of New South Wales and includes one of the few regions in Australia that regularly see snowfall in (southern) winter.

Flora and fauna
