The Altmark circuit crosses all the characteristic landscapes of the region such as the Elb-Havel-Winkel , the Land Schollene , the Wische , the Hellberge , the Drömling Nature Park and the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide . It also leads through the eight historic Hanseatic cities of the Altmark and past numerous villages that impress with their imposing stone churches.
