The Am Hartmannsgalgen nature reserve is located in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The 12.8 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1988 , extends southwest of the local community of Dorsheim . The A 61 runs to the north, the B 48 runs to the east and flows the Nahe .

The protective purpose is the preservation of the gravel pit with its water and shallow water zones and their steep areas

  • as a site of rare wild plants and plant communities that are threatened in their existence
  • as a habitat for rare and threatened wild animal species
  • for scientific reasons.
