The Maasberg nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the town of Sobernheim in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The approximately 12.5  hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1980 , extends east of Dörndich . District road  20 runs not far to the west and the B 41 to the south-east .

The protection purpose is the preservation of the Maasberg with its sub-Mediterranean dry grassland , its species-rich plant communities and as a location of rare plants that are threatened in their existence for scientific reasons.
