At the pit head

The Am Grubenkopf nature reserve is located in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The 3.0 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1985 , extends south of the core town of Bad Kreuznach . The Nahe flows to the west and the B 48 runs, while the B 428 runs to the east .
The purpose of protection is to preserve the area as a habitat for rare, threatened wild animal species and for scientific reasons.
