The nature reserve Kurpark Bad Kreuznach is located in Bad Kreuznach in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Bad Kreuznach . It is around 4.3 hectares and includes a few hundred meters long section of the Nahe and a wooded strip of land and banks on the left bank of the river. The adjacent Bad Kreuznach spa park , after which the area is named, is not part of the nature reserve.

The designation of the protected area is intended to preserve the habitat of rare and threatened plants and plant communities as well as animal species, especially the dice snake . This nontoxic, heat-loving water snake species occurs only in very few places in Germany. The population on the Nahe between Bad Sobernheim and Bad Kreuznach represents the largest German population (as of 2009).

The Elisabethenwehr in the Nahe forms the southern border of the nature reserve. In 2009, the old weir was redesigned into a natural invert , taking into account the dice snake population that was particularly well established there .
