The Im Eschen nature reserve is located in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The 33 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1984 , extends north of Pferdefeld . The state road L 229 runs to the south. The Lametbach flows on the northern edge of the area. To the northeast lies the Landwiesen nature reserve .
The protection purpose is the preservation of the wetland as a habitat of rare wild-growing plants and plant communities that are threatened.
