Amanda Rose Saccomanno (born July 18, 1991 in Westchester County , New York ) is an American wrestler . She signed the ring name Mandy Rose with WWE and appears on SmackDown . In 2015, she took second place in the WWE Tough Enough wrestling competition . In the same year, she signed a deal with WWE and joined the reality television show Total Divas , which was run by WWE and E! is produced.

Life

Childhood and youth

Amanda Saccomanno was born and raised in an Italian- American family in Westchester County, New York. She is the youngest of four children and is of Italian and Irish descent. She attended Yorktown High School , where she took part in the dance . She later earned her bachelor's degree from Iona College with a major in pathology. She participates in yoga , pilates and CrossFit . Her childhood nickname was "Hamburgers". In April 2018, Saccomanno revealed in an interview with former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia that she was dating wrestler Sabatino Piscitelli (Tino Sabbatelli).

Fitness career

Saccomanno took part in her first fitness competition in 2013 and took first place in the World Bodybuilding Fitness & Fashion Show . She was also named the 2014 World Beauty Fitness & Fashion Bikini Champion . Rose has been featured in several fitness publications, including Fitness Gurls , Fit & Firm, and FitFemme .

Wrestling career

Tough Enough and NXT (2015-2017)

Saccomanno competed in the sixth season of the WWE Tough Enough competition, which aired in June 2015. In the aftermath of July 28, she faced exit, but was saved by The Miz . In the season finale she took the ring name "Mandy Rose", lost a match against Alicia Fox and finished second after the winners Sara Lee and Josh Bredl .

After the Tough Enough Finals, it was revealed that Rose had signed a development contract with WWE. Rose made her in-ring debut for WWE's NXT development area during a six-women-tag team match at a live event on January 30, 2016 in Venice , Florida . In the aftermath of NXT on August 17, Rose made her debut in a tag team match with Daria Berenato and Alexa Bliss , in which they were defeated by Carmella , Liv Morgan and Nikki Cross ( then called "Glencross" ). In the September 28 NXT episode, Rose lost her first singles match to Ember Moon .

Raw (2017-2018)

On November 20, 2017, Rose joined with Sonya Deville and Paige on a Raw episode when they attacked Sasha Banks , Bayley , Mickie James and Alexa Bliss. A week later, the trio's name became known as Absolution . On December 19, in the WWE Tribute to the Troops , Absolution won against Bayley, Mickie James and Sasha Banks.

On January 28, 2018, Rose performed at the Royal Rumble , the first Women's Royal Rumble, number 4. She was the first in the match to be eliminated, namely by Lita . Parallel to her activities on Raw, Rose replaced the injured Alicia Fox in the Mixed Match Challenge , where she was paired with Goldust and the duo lost to Jimmy Uso and Naomi in the first round . In February, Rose entered the first-ever Women's Elimination Chamber match, where she was defeated by Alexa Bliss. In her first Wrestlemania appearance at WrestleMania 34 , Rose took part in the Women's Battle Royal , in which Naomi won.

SmackDown (since 2018)

During the 2018 WWE Superstar Shake-Up , both Rose and Sonya Deville were drafted ( switched ) to Smackdown Live , but Paige stated that they would not be given a manager and that Absolution was dissolved. Rose continued her relationship with Deville throughout the summer as the two remained a tag team and competed in various singles and tag team matches. Later that year, seeds of dissolution were planted as Rose eliminated Deville in a Battle Royal for WWE Evolution . The story continued when Rose showed her "lucky" intentions for Deville after she was selected to take part in Team Smackdown for the upcoming 5-on-5 Survivor Series match over her. She participated in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match on May 19, 2019, but did not win the match.

Then she tried again together with Sonya Deville, this time as Tag Team Fire & Desire to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship . However, they were defeated by the then champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross at Clash of the Champions .

Outside of wrestling

Rose appeared as part of the main cast of the fifth season of the WWE reality television series Total Divas , which aired in January 2016.
