Amphoe Na Tan ( Thai : อำเภอ นา ตาล ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the northeast of the Ubon Ratchathani Province . The province of Ubon Ratchathani is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from south): Pho Sai and Khemarat districts in Ubon Ratchathani Province. To the east of the lies on the other bank of the Mekong , the Salavan Province of Laos .

The main river in the district is the Mekong .

history

Na Tan was established on April 30, 1994 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating its area from Amphoe Khemarat .

On May 15, 2007 the Thai government decided to raise all 81 King Amphoe to simple amphoe status in order to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007 this decision officially entered into force.
