Andrea Miklós (born April 17, 1999 in Cluj-Napoca ) is a Romanian sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

In 2015, Miklós took part in the U18 World Championships in Cali , where she finished seventh over 400 meters. A short time later, she won the European Youth Olympic Festival over the same distance. Miklós achieved her greatest success to date at the World Indoor Championships in Portland , when the Romanian relay team ( Adelina Pastor , Mirela Lavric , Andrea Miklós, Bianca Răzor ) won the bronze medal behind the teams from the United States and Poland in 3: 31.51 minutes. At the European Championships in Amsterdam in 2016 , the Romanians finished eighth in 3: 30.63 minutes. In July she won the U18 European Championships in Tbilisi in 52.70 seconds over 400 meters. Then she took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with the Romanian relay, where they did not reach the final with 3: 29.87 min.

In 2017, Miklós won the silver medal in the 400 meter run behind Ukrainian Anastassija Bryshina at the U20 European Championships in Grosseto in 52.31 seconds . At the U20 World Championships in Tampere in 2018 , Miklós won the silver medal behind Indian Hima Das in a new personal best of 52.07 seconds . She qualified for the European Championships , where she reached the semifinals and was eliminated there with 52.49 seconds, while she finished seventh in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 32.15 minutes . The following year she retired at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 53.87 s in the first round and then won the bronze medal at the U23 European Championships in Gävle in 52.66 s behind Poland's Natalia Kaczmarek and Lada Vondrová from the Czech Republic. In addition, she retired with the 4 x 100 meter relay with 45.96 s in the lead.

In 2018 and 2019, Miklós became Romanian champion in the 400-meter run outdoors and from 2018 to 2020 also indoors.
