Andreas Hommelsheim

Andreas Hommelsheim (born November 18, 1953 in Berlin ) is a German keyboardist , music producer , composer and musical director of numerous synchronized productions.

Career

Coming from a musical family, Hommelsheim began taking piano lessons at the age of five. As a teenager, he also received guitar lessons. At the age of 20 he began studying German at the Free University of Berlin, which he successfully completed in 1975. At the same time, Hommelsheim began studying school music at the Berlin University of the Arts. After numerous offers from the independent music industry, he decided to finish his studies after nine semesters without a degree in order to devote himself entirely to his current activities as a musician, composer, music producer and arranger. During his student days, for example, he worked as a studio musician and arranger for Drafi Deutscher, Roland Kaiser, Joy Fleming and UKW.

In the early 1980s, Hommelsheim toured as a keyboardist with the Stefan Waggershausen Band and with Pete Wyoming Bender , for whom he also worked as musical director and composer. During this time he founded his own jazz rock formations with Margo and Arakontis, in which Gerry Brown and Alphonse Mouzon participated at times .

1986 Hommelsheim built his first of numerous other sound and dubbing studios. He also founded the labels Blackbird Records and AH Records as well as the affiliated Blackbird Music Publishing House.

In 1988 Hommelsheim began to work more and more as a musical director and songwriter in the dubbing industry. Between 1998 and 2001 he worked as a dubbing supervisor for DreamWorks and Warner Brothers in France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Spain, Taiwan and Turkey.

As musical director he is responsible for numerous synchronizations of well-known film productions such as Ariel, the Mermaid , Beauty and the Beast , Aladdin , The Lion King , Pocahontas , The Hunchback of Notre Dame , Hercules , Anastasia , The Prince of Egypt , South Park: The film - bigger, longer, uncut , The Phantom of the Opera , Charlie and the Chocolate Factory , Happy Feet , Happy Feet 2 , Ice Age 4 , Inside Llewyn Davis and many more. as well as cartoon and animation series such as Looney Tunes , Pinky and the Brain , Animaniacs , The Adventures of the Captain Underpants and many more.

He worked u. a. with Jennifer Rush , Iris Berben , Meret Becker , Nena , Moritz Bleibtreu , Patrick Nuo , Ute Lemper , Haddaway , Judy Winter , Jürgen Drews , Roberto Blanco , Katja Ebstein , Nina Hagen , Daniel Brühl , Mario Adorf , Olli Dittrich , Wigald Boning , Diether Krebs , Hildegard Knef , Frank Zander , Harald Juhnke , Thomas Gottschalk , Joachim Kemmer , Rainer Basedow , Ilja Richter , Dirk Bach , Max Raabe , Smudo , Jan Delay , Sarah Kuttner and Lena Meyer-Landrut as well as Ennio Morricone , Andrew Lloyd Webber and Hans Zimmer .

In 2010 he reactivated his label Blackbird Music. With the Blackbird Music Studio he opened another music production studio in Berlin in 2012.

Awards

In 1994 Hommelsheim received the gold record as the producer of the German version of the songs from Der König der Löwen .
