Anja Rubik, actually Anna Helena Rubik (born June 12, 1983 in Rzeszów ), is a Polish top model .

Life

Anja Rubik grew up in Częstochowa in southern Poland , but also spent many years in Greece , Canada and South Africa during her youth . She began her modeling career at the age of 15 in Milan . Two and a half years later she moved to Paris , where she graduated from a British high school. After graduating from high school, she moved to New York .

She has participated in campaigns by Valentino , Diesel , Versace , Dior , Emporio Armani , Hennes & Mauritz , Chloé , Dolce & Gabbana , Emanuel Ungaro , Ralph Lauren , Tod’s , Jimmy Choo , Chanel and Gucci . She also opened fashion shows by Stella McCartney and Proenza Schouler . She also stood for Yves Saint-Laurent , Paco Rabanne , Carolina Herrera , Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan , Karl Lagerfeld , Marc Jacobs , Vera Wang , Moschino , Bluemarine, Balenciaga , Gucci, Givenchy , Roberto Cavalli , Alexander McQueen , Atsuro Tayama, Christian Lacroix , Chanel, Oscar de la Renta , Matthew Williamson , Michael Kors , Ralph Lauren and Victoria's Secret on the catwalk. She was featured on the covers of Vogue , Pani, Elle , Harper's Bazaar , Glamor , Twój Styl and Flare magazines .

Since 2010 she has been a regular guest judge for the Polish version of the casting show Next Topmodel . In the same year she designed her own shoe and handbag collection. She is also the artistic director of 25 Magazine and was named an industry icon by the models.com portal in 2010. She was considered one of Karl Lagerfeld's favorite models.

Since 2014 she has been the presenter and jury chairman of the Polish version of the show Project Runway .

Anja Rubik is committed to sex education in Poland. In 2017 she initiated the #sexedpl web campaign , in which Polish celebrities reported on their own experiences in short videos, which were clicked on more than ten million times. The educational book on questions of contraception , consensual sex and homosexuality was published in 2018 .

On July 16, 2011, she married her long-time partner, the Serbian model Sasha Knezevic, in Mallorca . The couple has been separated again since 2015.
