The Argeș in Romania

The Argeș ( pronunciation ? / I ; German Argisch ) is a left tributary of the Danube in Romania . Audio file / audio sample  

It rises in the Făgăraş Mountains ( Southern Carpathians ) and flows in a southerly direction through the Getische Plateau or through Curtea de Argeş (German Argisch ), Piteşti , Găeşti , Domneşti and Budeşti and flows into the Danube at Oltenița . Shortly after the headwaters, the river is dammed ( Vidraru reservoir ). The river has a length of 350 km, a catchment area of 12,550 km² and (shortly from its confluence with the Danube) a water flow of 73 m³ / s.
