Arnulf Thiede

Arnulf Thiede (born August 20, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German emeritus for surgery in Würzburg.

Life

Thiede began to study medicine at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and became active in the Corps Holsatia in 1963 . In 1965 he moved to the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , where he also joined the Corps Franconia Jena . Finally he went to the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the Free University of Berlin . After the state examination and the medical assistant time (at that time still two years) , he received an experimental doctoral thesis for Dr. med. PhD . Thiede's surgical training began in 1970 at the Kiel University Surgical Clinic under Berthold Löhr . He was scientifically involved, among other things, in the Collaborative Research Center 111. With a thesis in experimental transplantation research he qualified as a professor in 1976. Under Löhr's successor Horst Hamelmann , he became deputy clinic director in 1985. In 1988 Thiede became the chief surgeon at the Friedrich Ebert Hospital in Neumünster . Appointed to the surgical chair at Julius Maximilians University three years later , he succeeded Ernst Kern in managing the surgical clinic and polyclinic I until his retirement in August 2008.
