Alfons praise

Alfons Lob (born November 7, 1900 in Duisburg , † December 31, 1977 in Murnau am Staffelsee ) was a German surgeon , radiologist and university professor .

Life

A native of Duisburg Alfons praise, son of the businessman Wilhelm praise and Adele born Rustein, turned to the put- High School a study of medicine at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn to which he with the acquisition of the academic degree of Dr. med. completed. After further training, followed by years of assistantship , Lob completed his habilitation in 1938 as a private lecturer in radiology and surgery at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , where he was appointed adjunct professor in 1944 .

In 1955 he succeeded the late Dr. Max Kaspar was given the position of chief physician at the Berufsgenossenschaftlichen Unfallklinik Murnau , in addition he was given the position of consulting doctor for the Bavarian State Association of Commercial Employers' Liability Insurance Associations, and he retired in 1969. Alfons Lob, who was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit in 1968 and the Great Federal Cross of Merit in 1972 , made particular contributions to the further development of spinal surgery . He pointed out the role of the intervertebral discs in spinal injuries and the importance of the stability of the posterior wall of the vertebral body and the articular processes for restoring load-bearing capacity.

Alfons Lob - he married Philomena nee Weber in 1937, with whom he had sons Günter and Matthias - died on New Year's Eve 1977 in Murnau am Staffelsee.

Since 1920 he was a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Ascania Bonn .
