Fritz Lechner

Fritz Lechner (born April 22, 1921 ; † May 25, 2013 ) was a German surgeon . He was a pioneer in the field of endoprosthetics .

Career

Lechner received his doctorate in 1949 from the Medical Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Until 1992 he was medical director of the district hospital Garmisch-Partenkirchen and established its reputation in the field of artificial hip and knee replacement.

He completed his habilitation in 1974 at the Technical University of Munich . She appointed him associate professor .
