The Resurrection of Christ Church in Schwäbisch Gmünd - Bettringen is a Catholic branch church of the parish of St. Cyriakus . After the approval of the building by the Bishop's Ordinariate of the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese had been promised in 1959 , the church was built in 1974 in the Lindenfeld residential area with the attached Lindenfeld Hagenäcker community center. The church is the youngest and second largest church in the parish of St. Cyriakus. The Resurrection of Christ Church is the only church in Bettringen that does not have a bell tower. Before it was closed for renovation, the community center, which had a bowling alley, served as a meeting place alongside other groups, especially the community's youth groups.
From 2011 a comprehensive renovation of the church and community center was carried out. Since 2016 the church of the Gmünder Jugendkirche serves as a church space.
Furnishing
The window cycle of the Resurrection of Christ Church shows several Bible passages from the Old and New Testament and was developed by Josef Baumhauer in 1975. In addition to the crucifixion and resurrection, motifs include the Last Judgment , Pentecost, and the texts of creation . In the course of the renovation in 2011, the window cycle was equipped with a lighting system that was solemnly inaugurated during the service for the baptism of Christ.
The only saint figure in the Resurrection Church is the Mother of God in the version of the Bolzano Madonna . This was made of wood by Josef Ohmayer in Oberstdorf in 1975 . It is located in the front part of the church between the chancel and the side windows.

The church had an electric organ for a long time , the sound of which no longer met the demands of the community, which is why the “Pipe Organ” project was started in 2003 , which was completed in 2007 with the installation of a two-manual organ with pedal and 1,083 pipes .
