St. Peter and Paul is a Catholic parish church on the Hardt in Schwäbisch Gmünd . It was built in 1958 as the first post-war church by the cathedral architect Albert Hänle on a filled quarry . The church was built on an oval floor plan with an attached, low weekday church designed as a cube . The main church has a 7 cm thick suspended roof made of prestressed concrete , which is classified as the first such construction on a church building in Baden-Württemberg .

The tabernacle was created by Fritz Möhler , the bronze cross by Otto Herbert Hajek , the Eternal Light by Herbert Stadelmaier and the altar candlesticks by Emil Förster.

In 2003 the church was renovated.
