  • Washington DC: Private James Anderson Jr. was the first to receive African American. Soldier awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously for his service in the Vietnam War .

  • Moscow : End of the forced "negotiations" between the Soviet and the imprisoned Czechoslovak leadership with the signing of a " Moscow Protocol ".
