Auguste Dide

Auguste Dide (born April 4, 1839 in Vézénobres , † March 16, 1918 in Nice ) was a French politician. He was a member of the Senate from 1885 to 1894 .

Dide went to Paris to study law . There he joined republican, anti- Napoleonic newspapers. He was therefore arrested after the Orsini attack. He then went to Nice, returned to Paris and worked for a Protestant newspaper. In 1885 he entered the Senate for the Gard department . In the following election in 1894, however, he had to admit defeat. He then withdrew from politics. Dide died in Nice in 1918.
