Fernand Jarrié

Fernand Jarrié (born July 10, 1899 in Bagnols-sur-Cèze , † July 2, 1996 ibid) was a French politician. From 1946 to 1948 he was a member of the Conseil de la République , the former Senate .

Jarrié, who completed an apprenticeship as a baker, was drafted into military service at the age of 17. He set up a biscuit shop in his hometown of Bagnols. He moved to the Bagnols parish council and became vice-chairman of the Christian Democratic Mouvement républicain populaire in the Gard department . In 1946 he was elected to the Conseil de la République. In 1948, however, he failed to be re-elected. From 1964 to 1976 he sat on the General Council of the Gard department and was Deputy Mayor of Bagnols from 1965 to 1971. He died in 1996 at the age of almost 97.
