Jean Cazelles

Jean Cazelles (born August 31, 1860 in Nîmes , † March 22, 1924 in Paris ) was a French politician. He was a member of the Senate from 1920 to 1924 .

Cazelles worked as a young lawyer in Paris. In 1885, at the age of 25, he began his political career when he entered the General Council of the Gard department . Under War Minister Gaston de Galliffet , he became civilian head of cabinet at the War Ministry in 1889. After the death of Georges Bonnefoy-Sibour , he was elected Senator of the Gard department in January 1920. He was confirmed in office in the regular Senate election the following year. Some time later he became seriously ill, was unable to attend meetings and finally died in 1924.
