Pierre Meinadier

Pierre Meinadier (born July 16, 1811 in Saint-André-de-Valborgne , † April 14, 1896 in Versailles ) was a French politician. He was a member of the Senate from 1876 to 1894 .

Meinadier attended the École polytechnique from 1829 and became a soldier in the military. He was used in the July Revolution of 1830 , where he was injured. Around 1855 he was used as a captain in the Crimean War. In 1859 he was appointed a member of the Legion of Honor . Before he was released into retirement in 1870, he received the rank of colonel in 1868 . A year later he entered the General Council . In 1876 he was able to move into the Senate. While he was re-elected in 1885 and 1889, he was defeated in 1894. He died two years later.
