Bahaddin Güneş or Bahattin Güneş (born August 18, 1961 in Trabzon ) is a former Turkish football player , coach and official. He was a member of the Trabzonspor team that was the first Anatolian team to win the Turkish championship, and was a member of the great team of this club for eight seasons, which, nicknamed Karadeniz Fırtınası , dominated Turkish football for a decade from 1975 onwards . He is the younger brother of Şenol Güneş , a longtime goalkeeper and team captain of Trabzonspor.
Player career
society
Güneş began playing club football in the youth department of Trabzonspor , the most famous and successful club in the Trabzon province. This club was founded in 1967 through the merger of several local clubs and had the intention to represent the Trabzon province in the 1st Lig with local talent . After Trabzonspor was promoted to the first league in the summer of 1974 and also reached the Turkish Cup final for the first time in the club's history , the Turkish championship was surprisingly won in the second first division season . Up to this season, the three big Istanbul clubs Beşiktaş Istanbul , Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Galatasaray Istanbul decided the championship of the 1st Lig among themselves. The team also won the President's Cup and the Prime Minister's Cup this season . In the 1976/77 season , the club succeeded in defending its title in the Turkish championship and its first title in the Turkish Cup. With this, the club achieved the first Turkish double victory in club history. After these very successful two seasons, the club awarded the championship in the 1977/78 season with a point difference to Fenerbahçe, but was able to get the other two cups. In the two seasons 1978/79 and 1979/80 the Turkish championship was brought back.
Güneş was then added to the professional squad in the summer of 1980 and made his professional debut in the league game on March 8, 1981 against Adanaspor . In the further course of the season he completed three more league appearances. His club managed to defend the title in the Turkish championship in the 1980/81 season . As a result, Trabzonspor succeeded as the second club after Galatasaray Istanbul to win the Turkish championship three times in a row. After these successful three seasons Trabzonspor awarded the championship with one point to Beşiktaş and remained without a title even after a long time. Güneş captured a regular place in the 1981/82 season and defended it in the 1982/83 season. After these two unsuccessful seasons, the club invested in new players in the summer of 1983 and brought on aspiring young players such as Hasan Şengün , Hasan Vezir and Kemal Serdar . With these reinforcements, Trabzonspor got off to a good start in the 1983/84 season and fought head-to-head for the Turkish championship with Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Galatasaray Istanbul. Before the 26th matchday, Trabzonspor took first place in the table with just one point ahead of the two opponents. Already in the Saturday game of that match day Galatasaray lost 3-0 to Orduspor and thus enabled Trabzonspor to make a preliminary decision towards the championship with an away win against the other direct rivals Fenerbahçe. In the hard-fought game, which was sold out with 26,000 spectators, both teams played a thrilling game. Trabzonspor won the game 1-0 with a goal from Hasan Şengün in the 89th minute. With this victory, the club took an important step towards the championship. For the remaining game days, she confidently kept the point lead and reached the sixth and, for the time being, last championship in the club's history. Güneş completed 15 of a possible 30 league games this season. With Trabzonspor, Güneş also won the Turkish Football Cup this season and was involved in Trabzonspor's second and last Turkish double victory. In the cup competition he scored four goals in eight games. After this season, Trabzonspor only remained untitled for two seasons. This led to long-time players such as Şenol Güneş and Güngör Şahinkaya ending their careers in the summer of 1987 .
After the hoped-for turnaround did not take place in the 1987/88 season, another revision was carried out in the squad in the summer of 1988. So Güneş left his club in June 1988 and switched to league rivals Konyaspor . After two years for this club, he began playing for MKE Ankaragücü in the summer of 1990 . At this club he was one of the most important performers for four seasons and was able to get the Prime Minister's Cup with this in the 1990/91 season . After Ali Osman Renklibay took over the position of head coach at Ankaragücü in the summer of 1994 , Güneş lost his regular place. So he was loaned to the second division Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor in November 1994 and handed over to this club at the end of the season, including the transfer. He played here until the summer of 1996 and then ended his career.
National team
Güneş began his national team career in 1982 with a commitment for the Turkish U-21 national team . By November 1985, he had completed three more U-21 games, although he was well over 21 for most of the games. The occurrences of these irregular missions are not known in detail.
Güneş was nominated for the first time for the squad of the Turkish national team in September 1978 by the national coach Coşkun Özarı as part of a qualifying game of the European Championship 1984 against the Albanian national team , but was only on the bench in this encounter. and made his A international debut in this encounter. Then it was no longer considered.
Coaching career
Güneş began his coaching career immediately after his playing career. He took over the position of assistant coach at his last club, the second division Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor and thus assisted the head coach Fahrettin Genç . In October he worked for the Istanbul third division Pendikspor as head coach. After he had coached this club for about a season, he remained without activity for about a year and began working again at Istanbul BB as an assistant coach from July 1999. He continued this activity until the summer of 2001 and then took over Pendikspor again as head coach.
In the summer of 2002 he was introduced as an assistant coach by his home club Trabzonspor and worked with head coach Samet Aybaba . With this he continued his cooperation in his subsequent stations at Ankaraspor , Gaziantepspor and Çaykur Rizespor . From November 2007 he started to work again as head coach and looked after the clubs Pazarspor and Adıyamanspor for a few months .
From October 2009 he began to work with the head coach Hüseyin Kalpar and assisted him in his stations at Samsunspor , Çaykur Rizespor and Göztepe Izmir .
After two months as head coach in the first half of 2004 at the Istanbul third division team Sarıyer SK , he began to look after the fifth division Bayburt Grup İl Özel İdare GS in November 2014 .
