Bahram Muzaffer (born August 4, 1986 in Fergana , Soviet Union ) is a former Turkish boxer.

Boxing career

The 1.88 m tall left wingman , who trained in Bursa , grew up in Azerbaijan and Russia before settling in Turkey and practicing boxing. After two years he made the jump to the national team and started in 2005 at the Junior European Championships in Estonia , where he won the silver medal in the middleweight division.

In 2006 he won the light heavyweight gold medal at the EU Championships in Hungary , where he was able to defeat Tomáš Kovács, Marijo Šivolija and Constantin Bejenaru . At the World University Championships 2006 in Kazakhstan he won the silver medal after a final defeat against Jerdos Dschanabergenow and was also able to participate in the European Championships in Bulgaria in 2006 , where he was eliminated by Babacar Kamara .

In 2007 he won bronze at the EU Championships in Ireland , where he also managed a victory against Tony Jeffries and took part in the 2007 World Championships in the USA , where he was defeated by Colak Ananikyan.

In 2008 he started in the European Olympic qualification in Greece and defeated Marian Momchev and Eemeli Katajisto before he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Kennedy Katende . In the second European Olympic qualification in Italy , he then made it to the semi-finals with wins against Vladimír Řezníček and Gzim Tahiri, where he was eliminated against the eventual winner Ismajil Sillach and thus qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . At the Olympics, he beat Aziz Ali in the preliminary round, but was eliminated in the round of 16 against Kenneth Egan . At the World University Championships in Russia in 2008 he won bronze and reached the quarterfinals of the European Championships in Liverpool in 2008 , where he lost to Oleksandr Ussyk .

In 2009 he was able to win the first European student championships in Russia, retired from the Mediterranean Games against Mohamed Arjaoui and missed a medal placement at the world championships in Italy when he was defeated in the decisive quarter-final match against Yegor Mechonzew .

In 2011 he won another bronze medal in the heavyweight division at the European Championships in Turkey, after losing to Terwel Pulew in the semifinals and also started at the World Championships in Azerbaijan , where he was eliminated by Alexander Powernov .

In the European Olympic qualification 2012 in Turkey he won the light heavyweight tournament with victories against Christian Demaj, Joe Ward , Nikolajs Grišuņins , Michail Dauhaljawez and Vətən Hüseynli. At the subsequent Olympic Games in London in 2012, he was defeated in the round of 16 against Ehsan Rouzbahani .

In 2015 he took part in the European Games in Azerbaijan, where he was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Josip Filipi .

In 2011/2012 he started for Istanbul Bosphorus at the World Series of Boxing and won against Georges Mayer from Paris United , Wang Jianzheng from Beijing Dragons and Enrico Kölling from the Leipzig Leopards , but lost to the German in another encounter. For the 2012/2013 season he was signed by the German team German Eagles , replacing Enrico Kölling, who has switched to the professional field.

After boxing

Bahram Muzaffer, who has been under contract with the boxing department of Bursaspor since 2012 , founded the boxing club BM Sports Box Club in Bursa in 2017 .
