The battery Südmole was as part of the fortress plan Wilhelmshavens a battery to protect the Prussian naval base in Wilhelmshaven .

Location and structure

The battery was at the tip of the south pier on the III. Driveway . It had underground accommodation rooms and an underground ammunition room.

The battery began operating with the expansion of the port in 1909.

The Südmole battery consisted of three open 10 cm guns.
