Fort Sinsum

The Fort Sinsum was a fortification to protect the naval port of Wilhelmshaven .

The fort is about 1.4 kilometers west of Burhave . It was built as a closed bezel . The facility was designed for two platoons of infantry (~ 80 men). It consists of an almost circular ditch. The facility has a size of about 130 × 150 meters. On the inside there is a wall about one meter high.

Fort Sinsum was created before the First World War . In the Second World War it was probably used for Wilhelmshaven's air defense. Today the moat and the wall are still preserved.
