Location and structure

Position of the forts to protect Wilhelmshaven.

The fort was built as a closed lunette . The facility was designed for two platoons of infantry (~ 80 men). The fort is located north of Rotenhahn. It has a length of 200 meters and a width of 140 meters. Most of the moat is still there.

history

The Imperial Navy already had staff in Meedengroden in 1915. It can therefore be assumed that the fort existed before that. The fort had an infantry factory as a two-story bunker and an ammunition bunker. The fort's bunkers were blown up after the war. However, there are still structural remains.
